The Make A Film Foundation grants film wishes to children with serious or life-threatening medical conditions, helping them to create short film legacies by teaming them with noted actors, directors, and writers.
We believe the art of filmmaking is not only healing and therapeutic but also offers hope and builds self-esteem.
MAFF GRANTS THESE FILM WISHES THROUGH 3 PROGRAMS.
Our short narrative program surrounds an ill child with a team of notable writers, actors, and directors to produce a high-quality film which stars the child and showcases their unique story or script.
We team a group of children who have medical challenges with Film Mentors and hand-held video cameras for a few hours to create short documentaries about their lives. We edit the films & screen them in a red-carpet event for the children. Everyone receives awards and a DVD of the films.
We recently partnered with two organizations: AUTISM CARES NEPAL and Self-help group, Cerebral Palsy Nepal to create THE NEPAL PROJECT - documentaries shining a light of awareness on autism and cerebral palsy in Nepal, the families, the children and how the earthquake and other issues continue to impact them. We hope to return this year to facilitate a screening and fundraiser.
